More about mattress eligibility?

There are several medical conditions which may benefit from the use of a specially constructed mattress. But, regardless of the need, a mattress expense is only eligible when its components and construction costs exceed those of a standard mattress for general health.

Some specialty mattresses use foam, latex, and air chambers to distribute body weight evenly, reducing pressure points that can lead to discomfort or worsening conditions. For example, pressure-relief mattresses are particularly beneficial for those as risk of bedsores, while adjustable beds can help alleviate symptoms of acid reflux and sleep apnea by enabling users to elevate their upper body.

In addition to their therapeutic benefits, these mattresses often incorporate advanced technologies, such as cooling layers to regulate body temperature or antimicrobial fabrics to promote hygiene. Some models are customizable, allowing users to adjust firmness levels to suit their specific needs.

Other mattresses come in a variety of shapes and sizes and configurations, incorporating separate materials in their inner and outer cores. The inner core can include anything from a spring to latex, viscoelastic or other polyurethane foams.
