Employer contributions

Your employer can choose to boost the amount in your HSA through its own contributions that are not considered part of your income. In other words, let's say your company boosts its contribution to your HSA by $1,000. This money isn't considered part of your payroll deduction, but it still counts towards the limit, so you need to budget your contributions the right way, to make sure you don't exceed the max.
